On a 2nd grade report card my teacher writes,

"Darlene runs around the room and

talks to her neighbors!"

AND I HAVEN’T STOPPED YET!

For over 40 years I have been a leader, supervisor, an employee and a volunteer in four major sectors of life to include the private, non-profit, government, and faith-based ministry.   

As a professional speaker, trainer, coach, counselor and facilitator I have been given a tremendous understanding and expertise in many areas of interpersonal development. 

I have an unpretentious passion, and uncanny sensitivity that people have said I immediately put them at ease.

Let Your Love Abound

Power 2B Me (P2B ME) is my overcoming story.

 I went through 5 years of trying to get my life back from my broken and fragmented life. I couldn't see past the pain, the abuses, the grief, and the depression.  
 One evening after sitting in one more group of hurting women trying desperately wanting to get out from under this cursed torment but not being given a way out.  I came home once again crying.  But God… had a different plan for me that night

With tears streaming I began to write this poem.  It reflects my pain; and the pain that I saw in others 

Let Your Love Abound

 

As I look in the mirror through eyes of tears

I see that person I have become over the years

Feeling the pain of a life gone wrong

Their condemning voices still ring so strong

You’re fat; you’re stupid, I want out of here

You’re so pathetic, you repulse me, don’t even come near 

I am worthless, disgusting, with no brain in my head.

I’m fat and I’m ugly and I’d be better off dead.

Where am I, where have I gone

This is not the place that I belong

I don’t want to sit here and always cry

I want to soar, I want to fly

I want to love and be loved back

I want to be free from their attack

I have so very much more to give

I want the joy, the laughter; I want to live!

Oh Lord, today I choose a new song

Take away this pain from a life gone wrong

I have been so lost I want to be found

Renew my spirit, let your love abound

Change my heart, Give me new desires

Bring down Your Holy Spirit like fires

Open my eyes and allow me to see

Your plan, Your purpose, Your intention for ME.

That night He met me there in my pit and made me realize what I so anxiously wanted was what I already had all along. 

I HAD HIM!  He gave me the Power to be Me!  

Never did I ever think that through the journey God was going to begin writing the new story of my life that I He would use my gift of training to help others realize their overcoming story.


As I began to write my story I titled it “Shattered Dreams the Wounded Relationships of Women”.  I was still in that wounded state and was still growing. Before God allowed me to actually share it, He brought me out of the shattered state of mind and was transforming me into being stronger and confident in who I was again.
The title changed to "Taking Me Back". However, again my life changed. As I was honored to be my Dad's caregiver for 6 years I grew even stronger in my understanding of the renewed transforming strength God was giving me.  I saw the power He was renewing into my life.  I had begun to understand what His plan, His Purpose and His Intention for me was. 
He gave me so vividly that it was to be Power 2B Me as His word promised in II Timothy 1:7 He doesn't give us the spirit of fear, but of Power and of love and a sound mind.
I found the power to be "Me" again, and He makes my passion stronger each day to help others get their 'ME' back. To see themselves as God sees us powerful, loved and having a sound mind not a shattered one. To have true joy and an abundance of never-ending love again for themselves or for the first time in their life.

"Darlene is a God-fearing powerhouse.  Everything she does and/or says is ordained by our Father.  She knows by listening and sometimes by just observing, what a person needs to hear. Whether it's a friendly ear for you to vent or the perfect prayer that touches your soul. I've witnessed Darlene share her wisdom & Jesus-loving heart to a group & one-on-one.  She never wavers when she's in her zone.   I've learned so much from her.   From how to pray to how to get my body aligned in natural healthy ways.
